It's My Day!

This is 44!

This past year has been completely amazing:

I started cycling racing, and I can not even began to tell you how cycling has expanded my life.... I have met so many people who I really like from cycling. I mean people who I want to be in my life forever. I have been places that I would have never traveled to all because of cycling. It is never too late to try something NEW!

This past summer, I traveled to Ghana, and I had been wanting to go to Ghana forever, and I decided that this year was the year. I put on my big girl pants, found a travel company, and traveled all over Ghana. The growth that I experienced from being in Ghana has been very good. I see so many things differently, and I do not take the opportunity to live out one of my many dreams lightly. Seize the Day; Today is the Day!

This year I celebrated twenty-five years since I graduated from high school and twenty year since I graduated from college. I am just sooooo happy to still be here among the living to celebrate two milestone moments in my life with people who shared those common experiences. Don't forget to celebrate EVERYTHING!

I have had experiences this year that taught me so much about my capacity to love and be loved....We can't stop growing and learning and falling in love EVER!

My people, this journey is a good one, and I wouldn't take nothing for it!

This is My Day, and I am grateful....

We MUST Live, Live, Live Until We Die......

Well, today I turned 43 years old.....

Yep, 43 years old and I have had conflicting feelings about turning 43...

Can I still go to bars for happy hour? Can I still run and jump and be silly? Can I still laugh until tears run down my eyes? Can I still wear shorts and tank tops? Can I wear low-rider jeans? Can I still listen to rap music extremely loud in my car?

For just a little while, these are just a few of the things that I was pondering. Just for a minute, I was putting myself into this huge BOX that was created by me. At first I wanted to blame society, but I had to point the finger at me, because I have NEVER listened to society before.

I had to have a heart to heart talk with myself, and let myself know that I can still do all the things that I love to do like laugh, run, jump, skip, crack jokes, get really silly at Homecoming, go out on a school night, or do anything else that my heart so desires.....

My people, as stated by Toni Morrison in Song of Solomon, “You wanna fly, you got to give up the shit that weighs you down.” And so, My People, I had to give up the age limitations that I was about to put on my life.....

With my new mindset, 43 is all right with me!

Birthday Love!

My Birthday!!!

Yesterday marked the anniversary of the day that I was born. I got my first birthday message around 6:30am, and they continued throughout today, and I am still getting messages today. (Grateful!)

Being that God sent a storm so that I didn't have to go to work on my birthday, I spent the day reading, thinking, and then I got restless around 3 o'clock.

"To Thine Ownself True."

I ain't the kind of girl who can stay in the house for days! Nope, that's not me.....

So, I went to Wholefoods to eat raw kale, string beans, a whole lot of other vegetables, and I had a latte.

I sat in Wholefoods and ate and talked to a friend on the phone, and then I went to the mall.....

I tried on a few things but left with nothing, and I was ok with not buying anything.

When I returned home, I had cured my restlessness and was able to pack my lunch for today and read.

The Birthday messages continued and continued, and I was told that I was loved more times than I could count......(Blessed!)
